Background
Craig Carman was previously a Tax Law Specialist with the Chief Counsel's Office of the Internal Revenue in Washington, D.C. He worked in the Tax Department of Deloitte Touché in New York City for several years. He has practiced law for many years in Salts Lake City, Utah with his practice focusing on tax cases.

He has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Utah and New York. He handles tax matters for both large and small clients. During the many years of practicing law, Mr. Carman has handled tax audits, offers in compromise, installment arrangements and tax litigation. He has handled tax cases in the U.S. Tax Court, the Federal District Court for Utah and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

In handling offers in compromise, Mr. Carman has been able to settle his client's tax obligations for substantially less that they owe based upon a careful analysis of their assets, liabilities, income and expenses and the facts of their particular case.

He has helped clients to work out an installment arrangements with the IRS based upon the taxpayers ability to pay. In many cases, his clients have been able to prove to the IRS that his client only had the ability to pay a minimal amount toward their tax obligation.

Mr. Carman has been able to get wage garnishments and levies released while working out other arrangements with the IRS.

He has assisted accountants resolve issues relating the tax return preparer penalties which have been assessed against them. He has assisted innocent spouses to obtain tax relief.
